How to Change Your Google Name (Desktop/Mobile)
- Sign in to your Google Account (or go to
myaccount.google.com). - Select Personal info from the left menu (or navigation bar on mobile).
- Under “Basic info,” click on Name, then the edit button (pencil icon).

Important Details
- Email Address: You cannot change the actual email address once it is created. You must create a new account if you want a different address.
- Gmail Sender Name: If only your email sender name needs updating, you can do this in Gmail settings under “Accounts and Import” > “Send mail as”.
- Consistency: The name change applies to your Google Account (Gmail, Drive, Photos, etc.), but historical emails will still show the old name.
- YouTube: Changing your Google name does not always change your YouTube channel name, which may need to be updated separately
